Flood Watch For The Des Plaines River

The NWS has issued a Flood Watch for select locations along the following rivers: Des Plaines River.
Runoff from recent heavy rainfall across southern Wisconsin and northeast Illinois will result in rises on the Des Plaines River through the weekend. River levels are expected to rise to or above flood stage at Russell and Gurnee.
The Flood Watch for Gurnee is in effect from Saturday afternoon until Sunday morning. At 7:00 PM Friday, the stage was 5.7 FT. The flood stage is 7 FT. Minor flooding is forecast. At 7 FT, flooding begins to affect the lowest areas near the river.
The following river levels are forecast for 7 AM on the following days:
- Saturday - 6.8 ft.
- Sunday - 7.0 ft.
- Monday - 7.4 ft.
