Midweek Storm Discussion - 7 PM
Monday, February 26th, 2007Well, the good news is, we won’t need to worry about a big snowstorm midweek. At least not here. However, Minnesota and the northwestern 2/3 of Wisconsin are going to get it again. By the way, the winner of the snow derby in the last snow was Winona, MN with 29.5″. Those areas will see 8-15 more inches of snow. For us, now here’s the issue. Rain and some thunderstorms will occur late Wednesday evening through Thursday afternoon. Rainfall totals could exceed another inch. With all the moisture still in the snowcover, frozen ground and then more rain, persons along the rivers should keep an ear to NOAA weather radio. Don’t forget, there is more snow on the ground in southeast Wisconsin than here. There is an outside chance that with temps warming to the 40’s, some rivers could approach action stage, which is 0.5′ below flood sometime over the weekend.
At the end of next week, we are still on track to get, what I believe is the last gasp of winter, one more arctic blast that could send morning lows into the lower single digits with highs struggling to make 20. This pattern should break for good around the 15th. I hope.
I won’t post anymore updates on this storm unless something strange happens. I guess that means you’ll probably hear from me again.
